For a start, those of you against them, just get rid of your MSTS 1.2 update, because you won't want TA products corrupting your machine.

I have downloaded all the free TA stuff from the beginning, and I still bought American Classics. Why? Because they install properly, and you get quality trains. The extra freebies have also been excellent. I am not even a particular fan of US stuff, preferring UK trains, but the quality of the TA trains are still worth getting.

If you don't like them, shut up, and leave them to make some of the best software available. There are plenty of people who like their products, so we don't want you whingers.

David

Think always if you read something strange, could it be ?,
and then look how many posts this writer made !!
If it is below 20 or so, then keep your eyes and mind open, for these sicko's.

I missed the "Train Artisan Argue" thread so on your advice I just read thru' it (most of it, that is). It certainly is revealing. Flame wars can bring out the worst in people. I'd have to say the original author accomplished his goal.

For the record, I hadn't been to the TA site for a while, but decided to see what all of the screaming was about. Went to the Club TA link, got the message about e-mailing my userID & password to get access to the downloads.

I did so, and got a reply back within 4 hours with the links I was after. Could only get on of them to work and e-mailed Cyrus about it late last night. This morning had a reply from him telling me what I was doing wrong to open them (yes, it was my mistake.)

TA is unresponsive? I don't think so. Excellent response!

I agree I have Downloaded everything from the TA Site and I think that they are some of the best add-ons for MSTS and I think that they should keep up the good work.

HEy Guys, Sorry! Most of the 1522 delay is me. I was slammed for a while with the real railroad and computer problems and got backed up on the sound files. 1522 is a very unique sounding locomotive and I want the sound set to do it as much justice as possible. I'm waiting for some more source material to get here and will try to finish the 1522 audio ASAP while the real things a bit slow. As for if it will be payware, donation or free, don't know yet, not my department!!

This is exactly what it means, I think! I guess, most people here in this forums are train fans (otherwise: wrong forum, sorry guys ). Perhaps 50% have (like me and my dad) a trainset at home and/or are modelling model railroads. I realised, that it is indeed fun and fascinating to make these models look as realistic as I could. However I am not a person who tries to stress myself in order to be fanatic about it! And there are people out there, who (for example) complain about the number of welding seams in an HO or N scale locomotive. Now this is ridiculous for my point fo view. The same applies to virtual railroading too! It is great, that there is so many folks out there make add-ons, whether free or payware or whatever. But I guess, most of them do it (aside from contributing to this community) for their own satisfaction! Because they want to do it!
I am eagerly awaiting TA's new releases. Now, if Dokkensound's soundset and the overall model of the #1522 will be as good as I think, it'll be an awesome model and we all are going to love it!

That's my opinion! Have a great day and do not argue so much! It's just not worth it! Enjoy it!

Cheers,

Sebastian

Having followed the original thread, until it was deleted,I couldn't understand the way the topic turned into such a vehement attack on the originator of the thread.

Regarding comments on the sparcity of the number of previous posts by the person concerned, and thus inferring troll like behaviour is,in my opinion unfair.I gathered that perhaps English wasn't his mother tongue, and that he was relatively new to the MSTS scene.
Santa was particularly generous last year,so there are a lot of new MSTS simmers feeling their way around recently, and their comments should be considered. There is always one person who feels their attempt to become more fully integrated(in this case with TA)has not been best handled.
A history of his experiences was catalogued, and in desperation,he aired this on this forum, with his conclusions, perhaps unwisely in retrospect.

For those who have had no problems with TA,myself included,I can see however that one person can have such a "one off" experience. It's part of life and happens in every business, for whatever reason.

I only trust that once the dust has settled,he can return to post his views, without being sleighted for his previous TA posting.

The original thread was not deleted, just locked (seems appropriate to me). You can still read it here:

I guess, that the whole topic "TA" gets a bit hot from while to while. I think it was the way the topic was started. Perhaps it's best to give it a rest see how it develops...

Agreed. Every message board seems to end up with a few hot topics that stir things up to the point where no constructive discussion can take place. For whatever reason, TA is one such topic here.

   Hi all
I think a bit of the hostility comes from how TA handeled things with Club TA and the gimme's that started it off.
If I remember correctly TA originaly set things up that a loco or trainset would be donationware first and was eventualy going to be moved to freeware, when after about the first 30 days passed someone(let me clarify the original poster was only looking for a timetable) posted to these forums asking when the new files would be moved to freeware, the gimme-gimme's started screaming about how unfair it was that they had to wait or donate so the gang over at TA quite rightly said to heck with the lot of you, yanked the freeware for a time and set up club TA.
Frankly I don't blame them and a good deal of the hostility I belive comes from the ones who derailed the gravy train in the first place

Are any of your source files for the sound actually taken from an excursion of the 1522? Reason i ask is because someone was standing on the vestibule of the Silver Quail on the first day of the 1522's last excursion with something that looked like sound recording equipment, and he looked like he wanted to rip mine and my wife's heads off when we stepped out there and started talking to each other!
